Objective
Nowadays, we focus so much on training managers and leaders, but what if we look at the other side of the medal and start supporting the ones who have to face a bad manager on a daily basis?
How can you show up day over day and protect your mental health, your well-being, and still succeed or get promoted in a team? How do you handle micromanagement? How do you communicate assertively? How do you handle power dynamics? How do you deal with someone taking credit for your work, scapegoating you, or spreading rumours? How do you handle isolation by the team when working with a bad manager? How do you deal with passive-aggressive behaviours? How do you influence decisions in such an environment? How do you escalate issues, and to whom should you escalate?
These are essential skills needed to survive and succeed in modern work environments. This course represents the other side of the medal: instead of focusing only on leadership training to support managers’ growth, it focuses on equipping you with the tools to protect yourself, avoid burnout, and move forward—because by the time they grow, you may already be exhausted or forced to look for a new job.
Inspired by my experience at Amazon — welcome to Bad Manager. The course is divided into four modules, inspired by the 4C framework shared by Yuval Harari as essential skills for success in the 21st century. Each module includes lessons and sub-topics designed to help you face a bad manager with confidence.
